The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has refuted allegations that the weapons stolen from its Lyttleton military base, south of Pretoria, have been found.
On Friday, the South African National Defence Union Secretary, Pikkie Greeff, said the stolen weapons were recovered at a house in Hammanskraal about 24-hours after the incident.
However, according to SANDF spokesperson, Siphiwe Dlamini, this is not the case.

Dlamini confirmed on Saturday that SANDF members had been arrested, but said the weapons have not yet been found.
"Because of the loss of arms at our depot and our storeroom...a number of members were taken in for questioning," said Dlamini, adding that they have been charged with theft, housebreaking, and loss of firearms.
"Those that were arrested were arrested on the basis of what the investigation pointed to," said Damini.
Dlamini said the suspects were remanded in custody until 3 January.
He says the SANDF is still hoping to recover the stolen weapons.
"We would want to have the weapons back in our possession as soon as we can," he said, noting that the investigation continues.
Greeff coudl not be reached or comment on Saturday.
