SANParks calls for vigilance outside Numbi gate amid hijacking reports

The South African National Parks (SANParks) has called for guests visiting the Kruger National Park to exercise caution when approaching the Numbi Gate.

This comes after reports of an attempted hijacking outside the gate on Tuesday morning.
The details about the alleged incident are unknown.
SANParks spokesperson Ike Phaahla says management is aware of the concerns about safety outside the property.
“If it’s possible to use alternative gates or possible to travel in a convoy, do that so that you are extra vigilant along that route,” says Phaahla.
The tourist attraction is also often faced with protest action outside the same gate.
