The Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) has dismissed former South African Airways (SAA) chairperson Dudu Myeni’s application for leave to appeal a delinquency order.

The Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) has dismissed former South African Airways (SAA) chairperson Dudu Myeni’s application for leave to appeal a delinquency order.
Myeni took to the SCA after the High Court in Pretoria ruled against her bid to reverse the judgment in December.
The judgment is yet another blow for Myeni’s attempt to save her career.
On Monday the SCA found there was “no reasonable prospect for success”.

Myeni was declared a delinquent director in May last year following a lengthy court battle.
The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa) and the SAA Pilots’ Association (SAAPA) dragged Myeni to court amid claims that she was to blame for SAA’s financial crisis during her six-year term at the entity.
They accused Myeni of collapsing and delaying deals that could have averted SAA's financial woes.
Outa’s Stephanie Fick welcomed the judgment.
“OUTA is obviously delighted that the SCA dismissed Ms Myeni’s leave to appeal. We were just like the SCA also of the opinion there was no prospect of success.
“It is a great victory for civil society,” she added.
Myeni was further ordered to pay the costs of the application.
