Security guard injured in Mabopane cash-in-transit heist

Gauteng police have launched a manhunt for a group of suspects who robbed a cash-in-transit van of an undisclosed amount of money in Mabopane, north of Pretoria on Monday.

The cash van was travelling between petrol stations when it was bombed the armed gang.
Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of money.
"The cash vehicle was bumped by silver grey Mercedes Benz causing the cash vehicle to overturn, three security guards were shot at and ordered out of the vehicle by the suspects.
"The cash vehicle was bombed causing it to explode and cause fire. One guard injured and taken to hospital."
Mathe says the suspects fled with three firearms belonging to the guards.
