Security officer linked to Vosloorus killing to remain behind bars

A private security officer appeared on the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday in connection with the murder of Sibusiso Amos.

Amos was shot at his home in Vosloorus during lockdown on Sunday.

 

The suspect - Siphiwo Ndlovu - faces seven charges.

 

Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Gauteng Phindi Mjonondwane says Ndlovu faces a charge of murder, as well as four charges of attempted murder after three children and an adult were injured during the shooting.

"Charged with murder, 4 counts of attempted murder possession of an unlicensed firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

 

"Charges against the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department officer were not enrolled pending further investigations.”

 

Amos is expected to appear in court again on April 8 for a formal bail application.
