Gauteng police have arrested seven girls for allegedly assaulting another teenage girl in Bellevue, Johannesburg.

The girls, aged between 13 and 14, were arrested after a video went viral on social media, showing a victim being assaulted by a group of girls earlier this month.
Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo said the accused have since been released into the custody of their parents.
They are expected to appear in court on Monday.
"A case of common assault was opened at the local police station, and the suspects were rounded up. The girls are facing a charge of common assault."
