Shots fired during Soweto taxi violence

Violence erupted between two taxi associations in Dube and Mofolo in Soweto on Tuesday morning.

Police spokesperson, Kay Makhubele, says the reason for the confrontation is still unknown.
An unknown number of bystanders were wounded and transported to hospital.
“Cars that were passing by were also damaged,” says Makhubele.
Police have been deployed to monitor the situation.
Makhubele adds that no arrests have been made as yet.
