Significant decrease in Covid-19 deaths

On the first morning of lockdown level 1, there was a significant decrease in the number of Covid-19 related deaths.

The latest daily report by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize, shows there were only 13 Covid-19 related deaths, bringing the total number of fatalities to 15 953.
A further increase of 1 555 new Covid-19 cases were recorded, bringing the total infections in the country to 661 211.

The country’s recovery rate stands at 89.2%.
Over 590 000 people in the country have recovered from the deadly virus.
