Soshanguve patrollers death toll rises to 6
Updated | By Lebohang Ndashe
Police Minister Senzo Mchunu confirmed the arrest of one suspect following the clash on Saturday between local patrollers and five unidentified men in Soshanguvhe, north of Pretoria

The death toll has also risen to six after two victims succumbed to injuries in hospital.
Four others remain in the hospital.
Mchunu addressed residents of the Marry Me informal settlement, revealing that an undocumented Zimbabwean national had been arrested in connection with the killings.
“At this particular stage, we are informed and confirmed that one person has been arrested. Just around here, as we suspected, we wouldn’t have thought someone would have come from Mpumalanga or North West for this – we knew it would have been someone from around here,” Mchunu stated.

Mchunu also confirmed that police are currently questioning two others.
“Out of the five people alleged to have been involved in the murders, there are two other individuals who have been called in for questioning, and they are being questioned as we speak.”
The arrested suspect was found with an unlicensed firearm, which is suspected to have been used in the killings.
“That firearm is being tested in a forensic lab so we can confirm, without any doubt, whether or not it was used in the murders,” Mchunu added.
“People will face the full force of the law. While it won’t bring back the lives lost, there will be consequences for those who have been identified and those who will eventually be arrested,” Mchunu said.
