Eskom will implement stage 1 load shedding from 9am until 2pm on Thursday before moving to stage 2 until 10pm.

The struggling power utility says due the cold front hitting the country the demand for electricity significantly increased on Wednesday afternoon.
The embattled state owned entity’s spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha says Wednesday's demand has been highest demand so far this year at more than 33 000MW.

"This, together with generation units that have suffered breakdowns, is putting severe strain on the system.
"Eskom is working hard to return these generation units to service to help reduce the strain on the system.
"While we appreciate the cold weather, Eskom urges the public to assist by switching off heating appliances, geysers and other appliances.”
Mantshantsha says stage 2 load shedding will suspended at 10pm on Wednesday night.
