Stage 3 load shedding to kick in on Wednesday afternoon
Updated | By Princess Mahogo
Eskom has announced that stage 3 load shedding will be implemented from 4 pm on Wednesday until 5 am on Thursday.

Thereafter, stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 5 am until 4 pm on Thursday.
The embattled power utility attributes the increase in load shedding stages to planned maintenance and the setback of losing four generating units.
This pattern of implementing stage 2 load shedding from 5 am until 4 pm and stage 3 from 4 pm until 5 am will continue until Saturday morning.
"Unplanned outages are currently at 14 894MW of generating capacity, while the capacity out of service for planned maintenance is 8 336MW. Eskom Power Station General Managers and their teams will continue to work diligently to return the units out of service, including the 606MW of generating capacity planned to be returned to service this evening", said Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokoena.
