Strong winds expected to hit Gauteng at midnight on Tuesday
Updated | By ANA
Strong winds are expected to hit parts of Gauteng from midnight until the early hours of Wednesday morning, the City of Ekurhuleni warned on Tuesday.

City spokesman Themba Gadebe said the South African Weather Service said the winds would be sudden and could cause severe damage.
“Residents are advised to stay indoors where possible away from the windows that open towards the severe winds. Those who are travelling should be aware of cross winds, especially between buildings and flying debris, and should stay clear of fallen trees and power lines,” said Gadebe.
“Small boats must stay away from the open sea and seek the shelter of a harbour, river estuary or protected bay. Parked aircraft should be pointed into the direction of the wind and secured.”
Gadebe said the municipality’s disaster management services officials will be on high alert throughout the night. - ANA
