Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Students from the Sefako Makgatho University in Ga-Rankuwa have blockaded the university entrance over what they say has been a failure by university management to provide them with learning laptops.

Students say university management has for the past few months promised them laptops in order to complete their online teaching and learning, but this has not materialised.
“We were promised gadgets by the end of April. That date was moved to 11 May and that was moved to 1 June. Today is the 20th of July and students do not have gadgets,” said SRC resident, Lerato Mokheranyana.
Higher Education Minister, Blade Nzimande promised in June that university students who are part of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) that they would receive laptops to aid them in their learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Nzimande said during a press briefing in June that a tender to procure the laptops was advertised on 26 June with a closing date of 31 July.
