Two suspects, aged 27 and 50, appeared briefly in the Pretoria North Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

They are facing several charges, including possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
Their arrests followed the murder and assault of community patrollers at the Marry Me informal settlement at the weekend.

However, the National Prosecuting Authority's Lumka Mahanjana said the accused have not been linked to the murders.
One of the accused, a Zimbabwean national who also faces a charge of contravention of the Immigration Act for being in the country illegally - abandoned his bail bid.
“Today, the matter briefly appeared and was postponed to the 1st of April for further investigations,” Mahanjana said.
“Those investigations include conducting an identity parade. The two accused persons are not linked to the killing that happened at the informal settlement.
“However, if investigations link them to that offence, then those charges will be added.”
