Tearful Zandile Khumalo tells of Meyiwa’s final moments

State witness Zandile Khumalo broke down in tears moments after she began her testimony in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.

Khumalo, who is the younger sister of Meyiwa’s then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo, choked back the tears while recounting the events on the day of Meyiwa’s death.
The former Bafana Bafana captain was gunned down at the Khumalo sisters’ home in Vosloorus in 2014.
Five men are on trial in the High Court in Pretoria for the murder of the football star.
“Are you guys even aware of what you did to our lives, are you guys even aware of what you did to us as a family on that day?” Zandile asked the accused.
This led to the defence counsel for accused number one and two, Advocate Sipho Ramosepele, objecting to the manner in which Zandile addressed the court.
Zandile also identified accused number two Bongani Ntanzi as one of the alleged intruders on the night Meyiwa was killed.
Her testimony corroborates that of Tumelo Madlala, who also identified Ntanzi as one of the suspects.
Zandile told the court that she heard the firearm going off, but only saw Meyiwa wrestling with a man with dreadlocks for possession of the firearm.
