Third drug lab discovered in Standerton
Updated | By Algoa FM
Police in Mpumalanga have discovered yet another clandestine drug laboratory in Standerton, this time underground.

Police spokesperson Magonseni Nkosi says that on Wednesday, less than two months after two laboratories were found in the area, in Mahonie Street and Rooikopen farm, respectively, a third was discovered.
He says police in Secunda got word from the Hawks' clean-up crew that underneath one of the containers with chemicals being cleaned from the farm, they saw a hole which led them to an entrance to an underground laboratory where more drugs were discovered.
Nkosi says that once in the tunnel, police discovered machinery believed to be used in the illegal manufacturing of drugs, as well as drums and plastic containers filled with substances.
He says a forensic team came on site to test the chemicals, so the Hawks cannot yet determine the discovery's value.
So far, police have arrested two South Africans and six Mozambican Nationals, who are all still behind bars, following their arrest on the first two recoveries.
Eleven luxury vehicles and millions of Rands were seized in April's bust on the same farm.
Police recovered a pressing machine worth an estimated R2 million and 35 buckets filled with powder ready to be pressed into tablets worth an estimated R26 million.
