Three critical after light aircraft crash
Updated | By MornéJK
A pilot, a student and a passenger were critically injured when a light aircraft crashed in the Randjiesfontein Estate in Midrand last night.

According to Emer-G-MED paramedics they responded to the call after eyewitnesses saw the aircraft crash to the ground.
"On arrival we found that three people had been critically injured. The patients were found lying a short distance away, after having been pulled from the burning wreckage by residents of the estate," Emer-G-MED says in a statement.
Paramedics say the patients sustained severe third degree burns and required rapid advanced life support intervention.

"Our trauma doctor worked alongside paramedics to stabilise the critical patients, two of which were placed on full life support," Emer-G-MED says.
The pilot, who sustained the most severe injuries, was airlifted to a specialist Johannesburg hospital.
