Updated | By Algoa FM
Police in Bloemfontein are investigating the deaths of three people due to suspected food poisoning.

The police’s Thabo Covane says the day after Easter Monday, police were alerted by staff from the Dr JS Moroka Hospital in Mangaung after five people from the same family arrived for emergency care.
He says when police arrived after midnight, three of the five family members were already dead.
Two members who survived explained to nurses that the family had eaten spaghetti and mince for supper before they started vomiting.
Lt Colonel Covane says the victims were a 55-year-old mother, her 28-year-old daughter and her three-year-old grandson.
The surviving members were transported to the Pelonomi hospital for further treatment.
He says food poisoning was suspected and samples were collected for analysis at the National Forensic Science Laboratory.
The results of the test are still outstanding.
