Three teachers have been killed in a car crash in Ngqeleni, OR Tambo District, in the Eastern Cape on Tuesday.

The deceased teachers who were all women were travelling to Canzibe when the driver of the bakkie lost control of the vehicle after a tyre came off.
The driver and other teachers were admitted to hospital with injuries.
Eastern Cape Education MEC Fundile Gade said Social workers have since been sent to the school and families to provide Psychosocial Support.
“As the Province we are facing the storm in a very painful way, and we are calling on all our people to remain strong knowing that provincial government will do everything possible to support all our communities” said MEC Gade.
"The surviving teachers and driver are currently receiving medical attention at various hospitals, and the department is working closely with healthcare providers to ensure their well-being."
"A thorough investigation will be conducted in close consultation with the Department of Transport to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident."
