Three Pretoria suspects arrested for NW murder, robbery

Three suspects, a woman and two men, from Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria, have been arrested in connection with murder and robbery after a man’s body was discovered in the bushes near Xanadu Estate in Hartbeespoort, Northwest.

Police investigations found that the woman, who was allegedly working as a "lady of the night", collaborated with the two men to lure and rob unsuspecting victims.
A 21-year-old man, who was previously robbed in the same area, identified the woman near the scene and alerted authorities.
He claimed he was ambushed at knifepoint while delivering sports equipment to a nearby college.
Items stolen included soccer balls, glasses, and a jacket, while his car — a Volkswagen Polo — was later found abandoned in a bush.
According to police, the previous victim and his uncle contacted a neighbour working for a local security firm. They then apprehended the woman.
Upon inspection, the man’s body was discovered at the same location where the stolen car had been found a week earlier.
“During the arrests, police confiscated numerous cell phones and other items including the sport equipment, robbed from the 21-year-old. The Trio, aged between 22 and 35, were apprehended and charged with murder and robbery,” said Northwest police’s Mpho Manyoa.
The suspects are set to appear in the Brits Magistrates Court on Tuesday as investigations continue.
