Thursday is D-Day for e-tolls
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
On Thursday Gauteng motorists will know whether or not they have to continue paying for e-tolls.

Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula is set to announce the resolution of his meeting with various stakeholders.
Mbalula engaged with the provincial government as well as business, labour and interest groups including the Organization Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa) and the Automobile Association (AA).

Mbalula, Finance Minister Tito Mboweni and Gauteng Premier David Makhura were mandated by President Cyril Ramaphosa to come up with the solution to e-tolls.
The directive followed a public spat between Makhura and Mboweni over the unpopular user-pay system.
Mbalula says all various stakeholders have been duly consulted and their opinions have been considered.
"Minister Mblula has engaged quite broadly with his counterpart in the Finance Department, the Gauteng Provincial Department as well stakeholders from business, labour and interest groups and he is quite satisfied that all stakeholders have been duly consulted and their options have been considered,” says his spokesperson Ayanda Allie-Paine.
"The decision will be made public at the end of October."
