Truckload of steel beams kills driver
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
A 35-year-old male driver was killed when the steel beams he
was transporting shifted and crushed his driver's cab.

The incident took place on General Hertzog Street in Three Rivers outside Vereeniging.
ER24 spokesperson, Ross Campbell, says that an entire truckload of 6-meter steel beams had ripped through the trailer and landed on top of the cab.
"One person was found to be entrapped and unresponsive. The Fire Department was unable to extract the patient before a crane was brought in to lift the beams," says Campbell.
Campbell says the rescue operation took around four hours and the driver showed no signs of life and was declared dead on the scene.
