The number of Tshwane metro police officers
arrested on charges of corruption has risen to 13.

This after two more Tshwane metro cops were arrested for alleged corruption over the weekend.
The Hawks in Gauteng arrested 11 metro police officers on Friday in connection with the soliciting bribes from motorists.
Tshwane metro police department spokesperson Isaac Mahamba says the possibility of more arrests cannot be ruled out.
“We were expecting these members to execute their duties, but we are not going to shy away or try to defend the charges they are facing. We as the city are against corruption and we do not have a choice if any of us is implicated in such cases.”
All 13 suspects are expected to appear in different courts in the city on Tuesday.
