Tshwane says progress made in Zwartkop substation fire
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
The City of Tshwane said 'good progress' has been made to restore power to the areas affected by the Zwartkop Substation fire.

The Substation suffered major damage on Tuesday and left various areas in Centurion and Pretoria East without electricity.
"The 6 out of 9 single-core 11kV cables have been joined. All multicore cables have been installed, and the team has so far connected 50% of them to the source," said City spokesperson Lindela Mashigo.
"The testing team has also made strides after they completed 60% of the testing work on the 11kV breaker, relay, current transformer, and voltage transformer."
Mashigo pleaded for patience as the technicians are working through the weekend to restore the power.
"The city understands the inconvenience that has been caused by this irregular and prolonged outage and pleads for patience from the affected customers," he added
