Tshwane water supply affected by power failures
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The City of Tshwane says it has been notified by Rand Water about the inconsistent supply challenges that are underway, affecting Tshwane and other municipalities.

This follows a number of power failures and trips experienced during this month of June at the Vereeniging and Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plants as well as at the Palmiet, Eikenhof and Mapleton Booster Pumping Stations.
Due to these power failures, the entire water utility system has felt a knock-on effect of unstable supply and this resulted in the depletion of water in the following Rand Water reservoirs in Brakpan, Vlakfontein, Klipfontein, Hartebeeshoek, Bronberge, Wildebeesfontein, Selcourt and Stompiesfontein.
Tshwane spokesperson Lindela Mashigo says some areas north of Pretoria, like Soshanguve, Mabopane, and Ga-Rankuwa, are experiencing low water pressure to no water during the recovery of the water system.
He urged residents to conserve and use water sparingly by not watering gardens, washing cars, cleaning driveways or pavements using hosepipes or filling swimming pools.
" The City of Tshwane apologises for the inconvenience that may be encountered."
