Tshwane warns residents water supply issues ‘could worsen’
Updated | By Mapaballo Borotho
The City of Tshwane warned that residents may find themselves without water for longer periods due to a drastic drop in the levels of the city's reservoirs.

Tshwane spokesperson Lindela Mashigo says this comes as the city continues to experience an increase in water consumption.
"The strain on the city’s reservoirs and those that are managed by Rand Water is enormous. This strain calls for communities across the city’s seven regions to use water sparingly, attend to their households’ leaks, report leaks that seek the city’s attention and be vigilant against instances of vandalism to the water infrastructure," said Mashigo.
The city implemented water control flow measures, restricting the supply of water to some areas this past week.
On Sunday, the Minister of Water and Sanitation Senzo Mchunu assured South Africans that the country is not on the verge of a water supply crisis.
