TUT suspends academic activities on all campuses

The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) has suspended academic activities on all its campuses due to student protests.

The protests, which broke out three weeks ago, started at the eMalahleni campus in Mpumalanga. It subsequently spilledover to Ga-Rankuwa and other TUT campuses.
University spokesperson Willa de Ruyter says classes have been suspended until further notice'
"Engagement with student leaders will continue, to resolve the current impasse," she said.
TUT students are protesting over student funding, meal allowances that they claim have not yet been paid as well as academic exclusion.
