Two marches to the Union Buildings over policing demands
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
Two separate protest marches are expected to descend on the Union Buildings today, each raising distinct concerns over national leadership and policing accountability.

In the first march, members of uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK Party) are marching to the Maupa Naga Building in Sunnyside in the Union Building Precinct.
The party is demanding that individuals named by KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi in relation to criminal activity be arrested.
The march is expected to start from Church Square proceeding via Paul Kruger, Francis Baard, and Park Streets.
In a separate march, the Defend South Africa movement is demanding the immediate resignation of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Protesters are to gather at the old Putco Depot in Marabastad at 10:00 this morning, and will march through key city streets including Struben, Sophy de Bruyn, and Madiba before arriving at the Union Buildings.
The demonstration is scheduled to conclude by 14:30.
The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) says various central roads will be affected and motorists are urged to avoid the inner city and use alternative routes such as Visagie Street, Nana Sita Street, Pretorius Street, and Eskia Mphahlele Drive.
Police visibility remains high, and authorities are urging demonstrators to remain peaceful throughout the day.
