Two women have been arrested for the murder of their friend and the attempted murder of her boyfriend in Standerton, Mpumalanga.

It’s alleged that Lungile Khumalo and Queen Nlheko attacked the couple after accusing the woman of stealing R1000 from a party they attended together last Friday.
According to police spokesperson Jabu Ndubane, the women reportedly took the victim and her male friend to a shack belonging to one of the suspects’ boyfriends.
"Upon arrival, they started assaulting them using an electric cable cord, shovel, and further used a knife to stab them, demanding their money. After realising that the woman was unconscious, they took her to the clinic, and on arrival, the woman was certified dead due to injuries sustained as she had a knife wound on her back and had bruises with a swollen head.”
Khumalo and Nhleko were arrested and charged with murder for the woman and attempted murder for the boyfriend.
The pair appeared before the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, where the case was postponed to next Wednesday for a formal bail application.
