Two nabbed, charged with murder of Tembisa traffic officer

Ekurhuleni Metro Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a traffic official in Tembisa.

The suspects, aged 23 and 31, were apprehended at the notorious Alexandra hostel on Friday.
The victim, who was on duty, was shot and killed on Wednesday in Sangweni section, in Tembisa.
EMPD spokesperson Thabiso Makgato said the getaway car used by the suspects was recovered.
"The suspects are alleged to have opened fire, killing the officer and fled the scene in a White Avanza.
"In less than 72 hours, the team worked tirelessly and tracked the perpetrators in Alexandra hostel and Roosevelt Avenue.
"The suspected motor vehicle used as a getaway car at the scene of the incident was recovered and one of the suspects is still at large," Makgato said.
The suspects are expected to appear in court on Monday for charges of murder and robbery.
