Two arrested for robbery, kidnapping in Limpopo

Two suspects wanted for a series of armed robberies have been arrested in the Sekhukhune District in Limpopo.

Police also managed to seize four unlicensed firearms, along with a significant quantity of live ammunition.
The arrests followed an operation carried out over three days, from Thursday to Saturday, which focused on suspects involved in multiple cases of armed robbery, carjacking, and kidnapping.
The first suspect was arrested on Friday and was found with three unlicensed firearms with their serial numbers removed, as well as several rounds of live ammunition, including rifle rounds.
The 37-year-old is positively linked to a hijacking and kidnapping that took place in January 2025 in Jane Furse.
The second suspect, abelieved to be the mastermind, was apprehended at his home in Koedoespoort in Mpumalanga.
He was found with a firearm and live ammunition, and a search of his property led to the recovery of additional ammunition.
“These arrests have not only removed dangerous criminals from our streets but have also brought justice closer to victims of violent crimes. I commend the Sekhukhune Tracking and Investigation Team for their courage, discipline, and unwavering commitment to public safety,” said Limpopo police commissioner Thembi Hadebe.
The suspects are expected to appear in various magistrate’s courts soon to face charges including kidnapping, carjacking, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
