Two killed in Ekurhuleni crash

Two people were killed in a head-on collision involving two vehicles on Niemand Road in Buhle Park, Ekurhuleni, on Saturday.

The victims were declared dead at the scene, while several others sustained serious to moderate injuries.
Emergency services and police arrived shortly after the incident was reported.
According to law enforcement, the collision involved two vehicles; one carrying four occupants and the other three. Gauteng Forensic Pathology Services later removed the bodies of the deceased from the crash site.
The rescue team from Wadeville responded promptly.
“The Jaws of Life had to be used to free one patient from the wreckage and two recoveries,” authorities confirmed.
“A total of five injured passengers were stabilized and transported for further treatment—two in critical condition. and three with moderate injuries. They were taken to Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital and Tambo Memorial Hospital.”
The Ekurhuleni metro police has launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
