Police have confirmed the arrest of two University of Johannesburg students, aged 19 and 24, in connection with the brutal killing of an 18-year-old high school pupil in Pimville, Soweto.

Cebo Biyela, a student at Musi High School, was attacked while walking home on Tuesday.
He was allegedly assaulted with a baseball bat, stabbed with a broken bottle, and had his throat slit at the Motswaledi soccer ground in Kliptown.
The two university students were subsequently arrested and are expected to appear in the Lenasia Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
The motive for the attack remains unclear.
The University of Johannesburg has expressed outrage over the incident, labelling it shocking and unacceptable, and stating that it contradicts its core values of respect, dignity, and integrity.
“The University will not hesitate to take immediate and strong action against any of our students should they be found guilty of any transgressions,” the institution said in a statement.
“UJ has partnered with the Gauteng Department of Community Safety to create safer environments for students, staff and the general public. To this end, UJ and the Department recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance campus and community safety.”
Meanwhile, the Gauteng Department of Education has dispatched a Psycho-Social Support team to Musi High School to provide trauma counselling to affected learners and staff.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the learner’s family and the school community at large, during this difficult period,” said provincial education spokesperson Steve Mabona.
Mabona also addressed recent demonstrations by learners, urging them to allow the justice system to take its course.
“Of concern, we just want to call upon learners not to do that. They must leave this matter in the hands of the police who are conducting an investigation accordingly.”
