University of Venda student stabbed to death, boyfriend arrested
Limpopo Police are investigating the murder of a student from the University of Venda in Thohoyandou.
The 20-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend following a confrontation at their on-campus residence on Friday.
The 20-year-old suspect, who is also a student, has since been arrested for murder.
Police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba said the woman was found lying in a pool of blood with multiple wounds on her upper body.
“Further information suggests that the suspect tried to evade arrest by jumping through the window from the third floor, and he sustained some injuries.”
“The suspect is now at a medical facility receiving treatment under police guard,” Ledwaba added.
He is expected to appear before the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
