UPDATE: Rescue operations continue after two tremors
Updated | By Neo Motloung
Rescue operations have resumed at Sibanye-Stillwater's
Masakhane mine in Westonaria after two seismic events halted operations on Friday.

This comes after thirteen miners were trapped on Thursday morning following a rock fall in the mining town, west of Johannesburg.
See the infographic below:
The mine’s spokesperson, James Wellstead, says the two seismic events happened 3.5 km away from the mine rescue operations.
"We did withdraw the rescue teams just to check the integrity of the area," says Wellstead.
Wellstead adds one of the three trapped miners has been located.
"He is visible to us but the other two we haven't located."
