Violence, looting spreads to Eldorado Park, Soweto and Ekurhuleni

Eldorado Park, Soweto and Ekurhuleni have not been spared from the violence that has gripped the country over the past few days.

On Sunday, protest action disguised as the #FreeJacobZuma campaign in KwaZulu-Natal, spread to parts of Gauteng.
This resulted in roads being blocked, while shops were looted and destroyed mainly in the Johannesburg CBD.
Hillbrow became a warzone overnight.
Gauteng Traffic spokesperson Obed Sibasa says the situation in Eldorado remains volatile.

He adds that the Golden Highway has been barricaded with objects.
"Cash and Carry bottle store, Shoprite were looted overnight. In Dobsonville Mall shops were looted and vandalised."
Reports of looting and were also reported in Vosloorus, Spruitview, Katlehong and Tembisa.
