Vusi Matlala’s wife arrested in attempted hit case
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
The wife of controversial businessman Vusi Matlala has been added to the attempted murder case against him and two others.

Matlala was arrested in Midrand earlier this month.
On Friday, his case was postponed by the Alexandra regional court for a formal bail application.
The tenderpreneur is accused of masterminding the botched hit on his then-girlfriend Tebogo Thobejane in 2023.
Socialite Tsakani Matlala appeared in court alongside her husband and the two alleged triggermen, who face charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Matlala is accused of orchestrating the alleged hit on his then-girlfriend, Tebogo Thobejane, who was ambushed by gunmen who opened fire on the vehicle she was travelling in with friends in Sandton.

At this stage, it’s unclear what Tsakani’s role in the alleged crime was. Their case was postponed until 3 June for a bail application.
The case against the two other accused, Floyd Mabusela and Musa Kekana, was postponed to 11 July for transfer to the high court.
The businessman has previously been linked to irregular multi-million-rand government tenders, including the alleged looting of Tembisa Hospital.
