A worker is in a critical condition after suffering burn wounds on 80% of his body after an explosion at a community hall at Erasmia in Centurion on Monday.

Five other workers were also caught in the blaze and suffered minor to mild burn wounds.
Police spokesperson Tumisang Moloto says they have opened an inquest.
“This morning around 11 o’clock we received a call that the building was on fire. When we arrived here indeed the hall was on fire and we dispatched emergency services. The information we have is that the employees were busy with maintenance when the building caught fire.”
The cause of the explosion is still unknown.
The hall is privately owned, and the owner was not available for comment.
