[WATCH] Henri van Breda girlfriend, aunt still believe in his innocence

The girlfriend and aunt of convicted triple murderer, Henri van Breda still believe in his innocence.

‘Henri van Breda is innocent,’ believes Henri’s closest aunt, Leenta Nel and girlfriend Danielle Janse van Rensburg.
In a world exclusive with 60 Minutes Australia, the pair said the triple axe murderer, currently serving his three life sentences at Drakenstein Prison in the Western Cape, is not a killer but a victim.
“He told me everything, he was very open, he was very honest,” says Danielle.
She refused to acknowledge that the evidence against him, in particular the self-conflicting wounds, could allude to guilt – claiming “to us it wasn’t damning evidence”.
“He can be lucky he hasn’t had more injuries, he can’t really feel a different way about people assuming that he is guilty just because he is not as harmed.”

Van Breda’s aunt, Leenta Nelm says she believes in the 23-year-old’s innocence because there is no rationale for what he had done.
“It could be that it’s too terrible to contemplate. However, nothing in my mind can think that it was possible. There is no motive, in my mind.”
In June, Judge Siraj Desai at his sentencing proceedings described van Breda as a “cold blooded murderer”.
He received three life sentences for the murder of his father, mother and brother.
