Geldenhuys says re-inforcements were called in from elsewhere to help fight the fire.
"Drakenstein Municipality's Fire Services Department, together with firefighting teams and vehicles from the Cape Winelands District Municipality and Stellenbosch Municipality, attended to the fire at a building consisting of three adjacent stores," she adds.
Geldenhuys says the flames were distinguised before it could reach the tanks storing KWV's world renowned brandy.
