Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga is set to announce the much-anticipated National Senior Certificate (NSC) pass rate on Tuesday evening.
All eyes and ears will turn to Midrand as Motshekga is set to make public whether or not pupils in public schools broke the glass ceiling and achieved a pass rate above 80%.
The national pass rate of 2018 was 78.2% - a 3.1% increase from 2017.
She held a breakfast function for the country's top 30 pupils on Tuesday morning.

The Independent Examinations Board (IEB) matric class of 2019 have received their results which indicated a pass rate of 98.82%.
