Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana will deliver his mid-term budget policy statement in the National Assembly on Thursday.

The mini budget comes at a time where South Africans are struggling to make ends meet due to the rising cost of living.
Speaking to Jacaranda FM News on Tuesday afternoon, North West University Business School’s Professor Raymond Parsons said here may be some good news in the budget.

"In a sense, the minister of finance has some room to maneuver thanks to good commodity prices, windfall tax gains and continued fiscal consolidation that we have had in the past year or so.
"The challenge is given the background that there is a little space in the budget to do something, how do you then manage some of the challenges that the minister will face on the spending side? There are key pressures there which may need him to spend money than might be wise under the circumstances."
