[WATCH] Plett Rage also cancelled
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The well-known Plett Rage that is traditionally held in the Gaden Route town of Plettenberg Bay at the end of the matric exams, has been cancelled due to public pressure and a request from the National Institute For Communicable Diseases (NCID).

Event organisers, Lucky Fish Events, made the announcement on the Plett Rage Facebook page on Wednesday.
The event was originally postponed from December to January 2021 in an effort to avoid it coinciding with the peak holiday season and fears of rising Covid-19 cases in the area.
However, organisers confirmed that a final decision has been taken to completely scrap the party fest for the Class of 2020.

"It is clear to us that regardless of the measures and precautions that we had put in place to ensure the safety of our attendees, the coronavirus is uncontrollable.
"The risk that this poses to you, our staff, our suppliers, artists, as well as the greater community does not warrant pushing forward.
“We have to do what is in the interest of public safety.
"Although the cancellation affects a significant number of people who would have worked both directly and indirectly on Plett Rage and desperately need the income generated by the event, we believe it to be the very best decision during these horrid circumstances,” add the organisers.
