The manufacturer has announced that there is a side weld seam issue that may cause the cans to leak.
Customers and suppliers are urged to return Koo and Hugo's cans that were manufactured from 1 May 2019 to 5 May 2021.
Spokesperson Mary-Jane Morifi says the safety of consumers remains a priority.
"The company identified the issue as part of its internal quality assurance processes.
"No health issues have been reported to date relating to the affected product rage.
"Despite the low probability of illness and injury, matters of quality and safety are an absolute priority for Tiger Brands. Therefore, the company with the consultation with Consumer Council made the decision to make an initial precautionary withdrawal in the best interest of consumers."
