Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
The Lanxess chrome mine in Rustenburg and the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) have reached an agreement to bring an end to the nine-day long underground sit-in.

At least 12 mines fainted and needed medical attention since the start of the strike.
Some 200 Numsa members refused to surface in protest against sexual harassment at the mine as well as a variety of other issues.
These included the perceived unfair dismissal of 54 Numsa members.
