WATCH: Varsity Cup match disrupted by protesters
Updated | By ANA
The FNB Varsity Cup match between FNB Madibaz and hosts FNB UFS Shimlas at Shimla Park, Bloemfontein, was disrupted on Monday night due to protest action.

Play was stopped 17 minutes into the first half when protesters invaded the field of play at which stage the Shimlas leading 12-7.
"We have contingency plans in place for dealing with match interruptions," says Duitser Bosman, Varity Sports CEO. "The possible disruption of matches due to pitch invasion by individuals and groups with other agendas on our campuses was discussed at length at previous Varsity Cup board meetings.
"A decision was made to respect the challenges universities face. No special rules were put in place to deal with disruptions, as our current competition rules are sufficient," adds Bosman.
The match resumed approximately an hour after the police and university security settled the situation and both teams agreed to continue with the match.
