Water flowing as Lesotho tunnel maintenance wraps up
Updated | By Bulletin / Jacaranda FM
Water from the Lesotho Highlands Water Project is flowing again after months of maintenance.

The Department of Water and Sanitation said on Wednesday that the refill process began this week.
Water reached the Little Caledon tunnel on Wednesday and is expected at the Ash River Outfall in Clarens on Thursday.
The tunnel system, which had been closed since 1 October, saw delays on Lesotho's side, while the department said that South Africa completed its work on time.
Officials are closely monitoring the water flow to ensure smooth delivery.
The tunnel plays a crucial role in supplying water to Free State and Gauteng provinces and supplies more than 400 million cubic meters of water to the Vaal Dam annually.
Ministry of Water and Sanitation Pemmy Majodina is expected to witness the tunnel’s water outflow at the Ash River Outfall Works on Sunday, after more than 7 months of closure.
