Rand Water maintenance to hit Joburg, Tshwane & Ekurhuleni
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
Due to a planned infrastructure maintenance project, Rand Water has warned Gauteng residents about possible water disruptions during the course of the week.

The entity will carry out the repair work from Thursday until Monday.
During the maintenance, pumping capacity will be reduced at the Eikenhof, Palmiet, Mapleton, and Zwartkopjes systems.
Rand Water spokesperson Makensoi Maroo warned that Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni, and Tshwane may experience low water pressure or intermittent supply.
"The objective of this planned maintenance is to increase capacity and improve plant availability, reliability, and operational efficiency, thereby supporting a more resilient and adaptable water supply network in preparation for the anticipated increase in supply volumes from August.
"Maintenance activities will commence at different times and locations across various municipalities," she added.
The maintenance may also impact water provision to the local municipalities of Rand West, Mogale City, Midvaal, Emfuleni, Merafong, Madibeng, Lesedi, Govan Mbeki, Rustenburg, Victor Khanye and Thembisile Hani.
