WC premier Winde urges Ramaphosa to intervene in Sassa grant crisis
Updated | By Heart FM News
Western Cape Premier Alan Winde has written to the presidency, asking Cyril Ramaphosa to intervene in the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) crisis.

Social Development Member of the Executive Council (MEC) Sharna Fernandez, says Friday's heavy-handed police force against Sassa dependants was a shameful act.
Fernandez says police officials should not be targeting the poor in this manner.
"I condemn the water-bombing by SAPS at the most vulnerable who are desperately seeking assistance from Sassa regarding the termination of all temporary disability grants," says Fernandez.
She adds she welcomes the premier's letter to the president urging him to intervene.
Scenes outside Sassa's Belville offices showed police water-bombing crowds with canons in an attempt to enforce social distancing.
