The mayor of the City of Tshwane, Randall Williams has apologised after missing yet another deadline to restore power to parts of the city that have been in the dark for a week.
Williams gave an update on the situation on Friday night, saying technicians would be working through the night to resolve the situation.
"We apologise, once again, as we have apologised so many times during this week after missing deadline after deadline," he said.

An explosion of the underground cable in Disselboom street last Saturday evening had left some residents of Pretoria East in the dark.
Williams said on Friday they thought they were making headway in the repair work but were mistaken.
"We finished the cabling and the jointing of the cabling by 5 pm," he said.
"However, after we did the testing and the identification of the cabling, we picked up that there were faults on two of the cables."
Williams was still hopeful that residents would have power again on Saturday morning.
